Senior Cell Materials Engineer for a silicon anode battery materials manufacturer in the US.
The Senior Cell Materials Engineer role will be an integral part of the company’s growth and success. This role will lead planning and execution of company’s battery-related projects and support external projects with customers.
Responsibility * Establish and accelerate cell materials validation processes * Develop design of experiments for cell testing and for root cause analysis of materials/cells failure and Conduct failure analysis * Interpret material and cell testing data and interface with internal stakeholders to identify current issues and future direction of our Si material development * Manage and guide junior engineers and operators responsible for cell assembly and testing * Interface with our strategic partners and customers * Explore new battery applications of our materials
Requirements * Master or Ph.D. degree in Chemical or electrochemical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or related field * 4+ years of experience in battery materials and cell development. Industry experience is highly preferred. * Hands-on experience on anode development, cell assembly, and cell testing. Direct experience with Si anode material and cell failure analysis is a strong plus. * Deep understanding of cell design and cell manufacturing processes * Knowledge of binder system, slurry rheology, and slurry optimization process * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Analytical mind and strong project management skills
